Episode: Hallway Hype: Drama, Departures, and a Dash of Chaos!

— Gossip Gerty

Well, well, well…welcome back to a new year in the pride lands. It’s only the first week of school and the drama levels are already off the charts, and no, I’m not just talking about the cafeteria’s new lunch menu.

First up, let’s talk about the elephant in the front office: Where did Principal G go?! One minute he was leading assemblies and dancing like a champ, and the next, poof! gone without so much as a final announcement. No last jam. No assembly. Not even a “see ya later” over the media. Seriously, he deserved a farewell parade or at least a heartfelt meme slideshow.

Now, in his place, we have our brand-new principal, cue dramatic music.

Rumor has it she started her first week greeted with coffee and smiles, but also walked straight into chaos. Fights. Yes, plural. In just the first week and a half, there were not one, not two, but three fights. Hello 911, we need assistance.

Let’s be honest, it definitely wasn’t the peaceful welcome tour imagined. Instead…front-row seats to “Back to School: Battle Royale Edition.” 🥊

So what does all this mean? Maybe it’s the heat. Maybe it’s the post-summer adjustment blues.

Welcome to the wildest back-to-school season yet. Buckle up, cubs, it’s going to be a bumpy term unless we all settle down.

Until next time, keep sipping that 😏.

The Tea: Fingers Crossed

by Liz Anya

Hey cubs.

This week, we officially waved goodbye to our fifth formers as we barrel towards exam season. Meanwhile, the pride lands have suddenly become a ghost town, while the buzz around the latest lime is reaching a fever pitch!
Yup, it’s that time of the year again, folks. The pressure’s mounting, the textbooks are gathering dust, and somehow, the details of last weekend’s “Raft Up” seem way clearer than the intricacies of photosynthesis. We’re masters of the social calendar, knowing exactly who’s wearing what to prom, but when it comes to simple reading and arithmetic? Crickets.

Look, I get it. Hanging out with friends, making memories…that’s a vital part of the school experience. But let’s be real, those grades aren’t going to magically appear.
So, as the exam clock ticks down, maybe let’s try a little shift in focus. Just a nudge. Perhaps swap one late-night chat for a quick review session. Maybe skim a chapter before scrolling through the latest social media feed. Even a little bit of focus effort now, can save us from some serious stress later.

Catch you next time.

Buzz in the Pridelands: Last Game, Last Drama!

By Liz Anya

Hold onto your edges Cubs, because Wednesday’s final game of the season was straight out of a teen drama series! The girls under 20 football team “beauty and shellhead” may have taken the win against AGHS (3–0, thank you very much), but the real action was off the field with the naysayers in the stands.

Regardless of how hard we work, there are always people whose life work is to live to hate on our pink and grey. How hard is it to say congrats and shake hands with a good face? Congrats to the Striker who finally found a space on the field to score the first goal of the afternoon. As well as the wing who put aside her tumbling skills to score two more!!

Meanwhile, Coach T was seen having an intense post-game chat with Principal CG. Rumor has it there may be big coaching changes next season. I hope they know what they are doing.

Still to come the 70th anniversary celebrations. Will the oldies outshine the current?

Season’s over, but the gossip? Oh, it’s just getting started. Stay tuned, cubs and rest up! You know I will.
