The first term has ended and the staff and students at the school are off to a much-needed respite. The natives have been particularly restless this year and undoubtedly harbour no fear of staying on the naughty list. However, not all children will be receiving coal, and we would be remiss in our account if we did not offer commendations where they were due. Thus, we fondly celebrate our students who excelled academically as well as those who took part in various extracurriculars like football, fencing, student council, chess, pageantry and pan. In every instance, they performed extremely well and sparked pride in the land of Princess Margaret. We salute you and all that you have accomplished for yourself and for your school.
Further, we acknowledge that there has been a time for tears as in all things there is a season for mourning. We continue to reflect on the reality of our mortality and the fleeting time we are afforded on this earth. We make bonds and we break them, or they are broken, and they endure past the point of breaking and we are better more often than not for making them. We soldier on. We do, if even for no better reason than it being the better alternative for us and the ones we care about.
Finally, just as one thing ends, another comes along and for that we are hopeful. The new year and new term heralds such festivities as our inter-house talent competition and sports week. 2025 will also be a banner year at Princess Margaret as we celebrate 70 years as a public secondary school proudly serving and schooling the citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. By these measures, we will be reminded too of our legacy of pride and hope through the highpoints and low.
We thank you for your continued support and encouragement as we endeavour to elevate and enrich each other.
Season’s Greetings to All.
